Building a strong women workforce is imperative to drive transformation in the country backed by this thought Skill Development Department J&K has launched ambitious programme of providing Skill Training to Women Self Help Group Members in ITIs. A 12 days training programme was devised on the basis of aspirations of the members around 5000 women SHG members has been trained so far in various trades like Fashion designing & technology, dress making, sewing technology, horticulture, be keeping, cosmetology, data entry operator, fruit-veg processing, embroidery, shawl-carpet weaving, traditional arts etc. This has resulted in increase in the economic condition of SHGs.
Centers for Invention, Innovation, Incubation & Training (CIIIT).
In the fast growing economy, use of latest technology and innovation are most essential for the success of skill development training programme and growth of business. Keeping this in mind, two State-of-Art CIIITs have been established at Government Polytechnic Jammu and Baramulla in collaboration with TATA Technologies Ltd. Pune to facilitate innovation and skill development of students, industry professionals and creating entrepreneurship. Each center has 09 competency centers:
a) Innovation Design & incubation,
b) Product Verification Analysis,
c) Product Lifecycle Management,
d) Value engineering & Benchmarking,
e) Autonomous Connected Electrified,
f) Mechatronics & IoT,
g) Digital Manufacturing,
h) Manufacturing Execution System
i) Advance Manufacturing Engineering
Pradhan Mantri National Apprenticeship Mela (PMNAM):
Apprenticeship Training Scheme (ATS), is perceived as a critical scheme to develop industry-ready manpower, by utilizing existing training facilities in establishments. The Scheme is run through the well formulated portal: www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in where both the applicant candidate and establishments could register and enter into a contract as per the conditions laid-down under Apprenticeship Act.
The Department is also taking part in PMNAM, the nation-wide campaign with full enthusiasm and vigor. Every month the apprenticeship melas are being organized in 06-07 districts. So far about 520 establishments and 10665 candidates have been registered on the portal
